Color you hair with ease. Sisterlocks, although tiny in size they are big in strength do to the special locking process. Special patented tools are used along with unique hair locking patterns that are customized for your own hair texture. Your hair is like a hand print; no two people are alike and an experienced Sisterlocks Consultant will be able to asses your hair and prescribe what you need. (Don't go to anyone who claims to do the Sisterlocks system but does not give your a thorough consultation first!)

Can you get Sisterlocks with relaxed hair? YES!
You only need to have an inch and a half of new growth to have the Sisterlocks system installed. So don't worry about a "boyish" look at first. You need not sacrifice length to be natural, HOORAY!!

Tightening the hair is a cinch too. All you need to do is see your consultant every 4-6 weeks for the first 3 months, then you can space it out from 6-8 weeks there after. And the best part is once you have had your Sisterlocks in for 9 months you can take a re tightening class and do your own hair if you feel like it.

To keep your locks clean, stay away from products that are heavy in oils. Use coconut oils for light moisturizing and for sheen.

To get rid of frizz, groom your hair by trimming off the frizz with an eyebrow scissor. This works perfect because the locks are so small that you risk accidentally cutting them off with traditional scissors.

Another way to get rid of frizz is to do a "Fire Trim" to your hair when it is damp. All you have to do is light a candle and run it along the length of you locks. This will singe only the stray hair or frizz that sticks up. Very quick way to groom, but recommended for professionals only.

Need a hot oil treatment? I really like Razac's hot oil treatment. It's one of the best I've used and the hair really feels soft afterwards. I like to apply it to wet locks and wrap the locks in foil paper, then go under a heated dryer for 30-40 minutes. Your hair will be butter soft!, then rinse. Why foil? It help the oil to penetrate deeper for better conditioning.

If you like blonde hair, make sure you color your hair before you have sisterlocks installed. Lightening the hair to a blond shade softens the texture of the hair and may loosen the locks.

Create lovely waves with the "Braid Out" technique. Here we washed and towel dried the hair, added mousse(I like Lottabody Mousse) sectioned off and cornrowed about 6 cornrow braids going straight back. Now you can either air dry or sit under a hot dryer. When the hair is completely dry, loosen the cornrows and finger comb the hair. This style should last 7 to 10 days if he hair is kept covered at night.

Short or long, Sisterlocks give you the confidence, versatility and sophistication you crave from your natural hair. Tip: If your Sisterlocks are short, use small perm rods (either blue or red) for a ultra short spiral look. Remember to make sure your technician is a certified Sisterlocks Consultant by checking the registry on the official site.

Do you have product buildup on your Sisterlocks?
Try this remedy, Mix a half cup of Apple Cider Vinegar and three ounces of Sweet Orange Essential oil, but it in a spray bottle and saturate the hair with this mixture. Sit with this for 30-60 minutes or go under a heated dryer. Rinse and you'll see all that goop coming out of you hair. Hooray!! Have you seen those orange oil commercial for cutting dirt from household furniture? Well it's the same idea for locks!

Suffer from scalp condition like ringworm? .. Use Grape Seed Extract. Mix about a teaspoon with a little oil(coconut oil) and apply to scalp as needed.
