This is the braid-out natural and it can be done on any hair texture from relaxed hair to kinky hair, it really doesn't matter. It is also a great transition style for those who are growing out relaxers because it plays up the natural texture of our hair. Here are the steps:
1. Mix some olive oil and gel together and apply it generously to your hair.
2. Part the hair diagnally and slightly off center.
3. Flat twist all the way to the ends.
4. When you reach the ends roll it up with a perm rod to secure.
5. Repeat all the steps until finished, let dry, remove twists and finger comb.
6. You can give the roots a little lift with an afro pick to make it look fuller.
When your own hair is healthy you can so anything you want and this look great!
Want to rock an afro but can't quite get that blow-out look? Try " ProLine" softener. This is a drug store brand, not "natural" but it works for styles that open like afros and braid-outs. It will leave your hair soft and easy to comb all day long. Go get some today. Any Walmart will carry this product.
Remember that natural needs to be trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks to avoid breakage do to split ends. You are not losing length when you trim, you are keeping the hair fuller and healthier. Split ends travel all the way up the hair shaft and causes the hair to pop off. That why black girls think their hair doesn't grow: Big Mistake!!
Do be afraid to do what it takes to stay pretty!
