Cornrow hair braids are a lot more advanced in the overall look and function. Gone are the days of scalp pulling and hair ripping, big knot cornrows. Now with advanced techniques like Salkis' Blended Cornrow Method, you can achieve beautiful undetectable cornrow extensions that can take you from day to evening, from the office to the gym and when done properly the cornrow style can easily become wedding hair do.
The cornrows you see featured here are all done with synthetic hair and these clients have unprocessed hair. Now normally clients with kinky hair are more difficult to get a smooth polished result but I'll tell you exactly what to do to achieve a smooth finish.
1. Start my blow drying hair with a comb attachment. Use a leave -in conditioner like Kera Care Blow drying lotion. Then section off the extension hair( I like to use Pro 10 hair) its very soft and pliable to work with and don't forget_and flame retardant too!Cut the pack of hair in half and pull pieces out to add to your hair. Use about 3 packs of hair for an average size head. When you begin to braid take the smallest amount of hair to start the cornrow.
Make sure to part the hair more narrow as you get to the nape of the neck so you don't run out of space when you reach to the back of the head. With very turn, add another piece of hair-the cornrow will gradually get get wider as you get further down the head. When your finished braiding down to the ends of the hair, cut the stray hair and seal ends with a lit candle( I find that a candle burns ends with a better seal than a lighter!) Repeat all step until done.*Remember to use the best hair for the best result. Cheap hair synthetic hair will frizz and snag your clothes.
Ask about our classes! Also, to know how much hair to add for each cornrow, just count. If you added hair 4x's to one cornrow then add the same amount for the next one add 1 or 2 more pieces as the width of the head gets bigger which is usually as you get closer to the top of the head.

The best head covering for cornrows is a pair of nylon stockings. It won't come off while you sleep and it doesn't dry out the hair like regular scarfs do. This style should last from 4-6 weeks with care.
